Our District
Manawatū District is a picturesque district located the lower North Island of New Zealand.
It’s home to rich fertile land, rugged coastlines, urban cities, rivers which connect us - and on a good day you can spot Mount Ruapehu and Mount Taranaki in the distance.
Our rural history grounds us and it’s celebrated every Friday as one of the largest sale yards in the Southern Hemisphere comes to life. Tours take place regularly and visitors are welcome for a look as the pens fill with stock and farmers, stock agents and families reconnect week to week.
Feilding, our largest urban centre is proud to be home to Manfeild; New Zealand’s most diverse event centre. Manfeild hosts the Circuit Chris Amon, a 3km international race circuit named after the kiwi racing legend Chris Amon.
For visitors looking to get off the beaten track, there are countless walks and reserves that you can visit for the day or camp at for multiple nights to breathe in the fresh air, immerse yourself in nature and meet the friendly people that call the Manawatū home.
