The Manawatū District Council collected feedback on the government's proposed Three Waters Reform between 31 August and 29 September 2021. The consultation period has now closed.
We received a huge volume of feedback on this topic, and appreciate you all letting us know your opinions on this important issue.
Council has reviewed this feedback and prepared the response below to central government.
On 27 October, the Minister for Local Government stated that the reform will go ahead and councils will not be able to opt out.
On the 18th of November, Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding with other partner councils to cooperate on a campaign to convince the Government to reconsider its position.
