Thank you for your interest

The Manawatū District Council collected feedback on the Dangerous, Affected and Insanitary Buildings Policy until 12 September 2022. The consultation period has now closed.

Please read below to see the information provided during the consultation period.

The Manawatū District Council is currently reviewing its Dangerous, Affected and Insanitary Buildings Policy and we would like your feedback.

The purpose of the Dangerous, Affected and Insanitary Buildings Policy is to:

  • Reduce the potential risk posed to residents in the District by dangerous, affected and insanitary buildings; and
  • Provide a clear framework of how Council will manage dangerous, affected and insanitary buildings.

The proposed changes to the 2017 Policy are minor in nature and do not significantly affect the operation or effect of the policy. As outlined in Table 1 in the Statement of Proposal, the changes are to reflect changes in legislation, new community outcomes, to removal of heritage funding that is no longer available, and to improve clarity.
