Community Honours

Community Honours nominations are now open.  Do you have someone in mind?  We would love to hear about the person and their work.

There are people in our community who quietly make a difference without asking for payment, or recognition.  It’s the small consistent jobs, the relationships and values that connect and bind our communities that often go unrecognised.

The Manawatū District is full of people who selflessly give up their time to help support the community in which they live.  It could be through coaching, mentoring, arts and culture, charitable organisations, community programmes and initiatives -  or just by helping others on their own accord.

That is why Community Honours, through the Manawatū District Council was established.  It is an award scheme to recognise the significant voluntary contributions made to one’s community by individual citizens.

Nominations can be made by individuals or organisations and should be submitted by 5pm on July 31.

Do you have someone in mind?  We’d love to hear about the person and their work.  The nomination can be submitted online, must include a second nominator, and should include both a high-level overview of the nominee’s voluntary work and how that work impacts the Manawatū District.
