Council submits to the Justice Committee in Parliament
Following Council’s decisions to submit on the Local Government (Electoral Legislation and Māori Wards and Māori Constituencies) Amendment Bill, the submission has been signed and submitted to the Justice Committee in Parliament.
The submission outlines the result of the Council meeting and Council’s committed efforts of focusing to build relationships with our iwi and tangata whenua, celebrating increased Māori engagement through the Long-term Plan consultation, while acknowledging the range of views around the Council table and throughout our community.
