More time to park in Feilding

In response to community feedback, time-limited parking was brought back to the Council table on 19 December to be reassessed, specifically to evaluate the adjustment of time-limits in specific areas.

Council resolved to make the following changes:

  • Time-limited parking will be applicable from 8.30am to 3.00pm.
  • Time-limited parking of zone C (directly surrounding Manchester Square) is to be increased from 60 minutes to 180 minutes.
  • 3 car parks outside Beresford Bakery will be decreased from 60 minutes to 30 minutes.
  • All current 60-minute areas along Kimbolton Road, Goodbehere Street and Fergusson Street will be increased to 180 minutes
  • Both sides of the road on Bowen Street, only from 18 Bowen Street to Manchester Street will be time-limited to 180 minutes
  • Both sides of the road on Manchester Street, only from 100 to 136 will be time-limited to 180 minutes.

Council discussion also included the time-limited loading zones, and Council will be looking to investigate potential improvements to the loading zone signage.

Deputy Mayor Ford has worked closely with Feilding & District Promotions to receive feedback from Feilding’s business community.  “The time-limits are to ensure that spaces are available for shoppers to better utilise the central business district of Feilding,” Deputy Mayor Ford explains.  The overall feedback has been positive from shoppers and business owners that we are achieving our goal of making parks more available.  These minor adjustment to the time-limits will continue to ease high traffic areas, while allocating more time to park in others.”

The time-limits will not be reviewed again until 18 months after the commencement of enforcement which was resolved to begin from 5 March 2025.

The above time-limited changes will take effect in the new year once signage has been adjusted.
