Feilding Introduces Free Parking with Enforced Time Limits in CBD Starting 1 May 2025

As of Thursday, 1 May 2025, parking in Feilding’s CBD will be free, but time limits will be enforced to ensure fair access to prime parking spots throughout the area.

This initiative follows an extensive trial period designed to address the issue of long-term parking in high-demand spaces. In 2023, the Council gathered valuable community feedback to determine the best approach to managing overstaying vehicles. Based on this input, the Council has decided to designate certain areas for all-day parking, while introducing short-term, time-limited parking in key locations to encourage a higher turnover of vehicles in the bustling CBD shopping district.

Following the initial implementation of time limits, the Council has listened to further community input and made adjustments. The time limit enforcement will now run from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, an earlier start compared to the previous 9:00 am to 3:00 pm timeframe, and adjustments have been made to the allowed duration of parking in specific areas. All-day parking will continue to be available in the centre of Kimbolton Road and in off-street car parks on Eyre Street (behind Delish and Murrays) and Warwick Street.

Alongside monitoring time limits, parking enforcement officers will also be keeping an eye on the following violations:

  • Unsafe parking, such as parking on broken yellow lines or at pedestrian crossings.
  • Parking in mobility parks without a valid permit.
  • Parking in loading zones without actively loading or unloading.

These changes aim to create a safer, more accessible parking environment for all who visit Feilding’s CBD, and we appreciate the community’s ongoing cooperation in making these adjustments successful.
